"JOJO Hiroshige (September 9, 1959) is a Japanese noise musician, guitarist, singer, music critic, sports card collector, businessman, and fortune teller. His real name is Yoshiyuki Hiroshige. Around 1974, he started recording at home in Kyoto. Initially, he produced many overdubbed works on cassettes and reel-to-reel tape decks. In 1977 he formed the improvisational band SLOTH. In 1978, he formed the avant-garde punk rock band ULTRA BIDE. In 1979, he formed noise band Hijokaidan. At a time when most of the possibilities of rock music had been exhausted, he sought 'something that no one else had done, something that no one could understand', and ended up playing noise. In 1984, he established the independent label Alchemy Records with Naoto Hayashi. He has released over 200 works, including CDs and DVDs."
