"Rock 'n Roll Station began life with Steven Stapleton asking Colin Potter to remix some of the more rhythmic elements of the track 'Colder Still' from the previous release 'Thunder Perfect Mind'. As Potter gradually warped these sections into weirder pieces, a brand new album began to emerge. Building on percussion and drone elements, Stapleton and Potter further added a huge range of even more bizarre
and atmospheric sounds. The strong focus on rhythm was erroneously surmised by some as an attempt
at Electronic Dance Music, but it was really Stapleton’s obsession with the music of Pérez ‘King of
the Mambo’ Prado that was beating at the heart of Rock N’ Roll Station’s heady rhythms."
